    Dr. Nazila Ghanea teaches International Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford. She was the founding editor of the international journal of Religion and Human Rights.

    She has acted as a human rights consultant/expert for a number of governments, the UN, UNESCO, OSCE, Council of Europe and the EU. Nazila has facilitated international human rights law training for a range of professional bodies, lectured widely and carried out first hand human rights field research in a number of countries including Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, the UK and Qatar. She has received research funding from bodies such as the Economic and Social Research Council (ESCR), the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRC), the Open Society and the EU.

    Her publications include nine books, three UN publications and a number of journal articles and chapters. Her research primarily concerns matters related to equality and non-discrimination, minority rights and freedom of religion or belief. Her doctoral thesis was published as Human Rights, the UN and the Baha'is in Iran.
