- Kavian Milani
Kavian Milani graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and has clinical faculty appointments at George Washington University and the University of Virginia. He has also studied history at George Mason University. Milani is a human rights activist and researcher. He has published peer reviewed academic papers on Iranian history, manuscript identification, comparative religions and religious history in the form of book chapters, and articles such as "The History and Provenance of an Early Manuscript of the Nuqtat al-Kaf Dated 1268 (1851-52)" co-authored with William McCants, published in Iranian Studies 37:3 (September 2004). He has also contributed entries to Encyclopaedia Iranica. He is the founder of Goftman-iran (www.goftman-iran.org), an e-journal covering history, human rights, intellectual debates and methodology and literature (launched 2005). He is a founding member of "Hamzaban Cultural Foundation" and serves on its Board of Directors and is a member of the editorial board of Hamzaban (www.hamzaban.org), a peer reviewed academic journal of Iranian Studies.
